To lose bodyfat you have to be in a calorie deficit. This could be from creating a deficit through your diet (as in eating less calories than what your maintenance calories would be) and / or creating a deficit through output (as in exercise). If you aren’t losing weight - put simply you are eating more than your body expends. This includes the energy your body uses to function!

Effort - To lose bodyfat you have to make an effort! Like anything in life, you have to work for things, things don’t just come to you. Even putting in some effort - no matter how small - will change things. Get off your butt, take ACTION and MOVE. Take responsibility for where you are now, noone else can do it for you!

Consistency & Patience is super important. Many people give up after the first couple of weeks, mainly because they have set their expectations too high and haven’t seen the results they want so they try something else - low carb, shakes, keto, intermittent fasting etc. Keep at something for at least 4 weeks before you throw in the towel.

Accountability - This is the main one for me and my clients. Most people know what they need to do to lose weight, but they aren’t holding themselves accountable. They’ll just try and lose weight, but with no real conviction on what they are doing.

Essentially, accountability keeps you consistent by you having to report back to someone what you’re successfully, or unsuccessfully doing with your diet and exercise.

What makes accountability so powerful is that it doesn't matter how little motivation you may have to do something. If you know that there is someone expecting you to report back to them, you’ll get it done!

Accountability creates consistency, and if you aren't consistent, you'll never reach your goals of losing fat and building a lean, healthy body. You see, they all interlink!
